Animal feeding rounds

A real farm morning and evening.

These moments depend on season, weather, animal care and daily farm work, but when they are happening they are the memories children take home.

Dam days

Swim, paddle and fish.

The farm dam is the heart of a warm day. Swim, take out a kayak, picnic on the bank or try catch-and-release fishing when conditions allow.

Carp and tilapia live in the dam; trout are rumoured, not promised. Please bring your own rods, use kayaks only with permission and suitable lifejackets, return kayaks and paddles after use, and leave the banks tidy.

The dam is open water on a working farm and is not lifeguarded. Children must be actively supervised by an adult at all times near the water.

A quick family rally or a properly competitive game when the weather turns.

Rugby & lawn games

Pass, kick and make up games on the open lawns.

Star gazing

The night sky is part of the stay.

Far from city light, the Overberg sky opens properly. Pull a chair onto the stoep, switch off the lights and look up.

Clear winter nights are especially good; bring warm layers.
