A quick family rally or a properly competitive game when the weather turns.
At Landmeterskop, the animal rounds are a proper farm ritual. Children can collect free-range eggs, feed ducks and geese, help with lamb feeding and meet the alpacas, goats and pigs.

These moments depend on season, weather, animal care and daily farm work, but when they are happening they are the memories children take home.

Usually around 08h00 and 17h00, with children helping under supervision.

Bottle-feeding where available, usually around morning and evening rounds.

Gentle, memorable farm encounters for children who love animals.

Meet the pigs during the afternoon farm rhythm, usually around 17h00.

The farm dam is the heart of a warm day. Swim, take out a kayak, picnic on the bank or try catch-and-release fishing when conditions allow.
Carp and tilapia live in the dam; trout are rumoured, not promised. Please bring your own rods, use kayaks only with permission and suitable lifejackets, return kayaks and paddles after use, and leave the banks tidy.
The dam is open water on a working farm and is not lifeguarded. Children must be actively supervised by an adult at all times near the water.

Use everything sensibly and return it so the next family can enjoy it too.

Walk the farm roads and pastures, hike up the mountain to two viewpoints, or bring mountain bikes for a slower off-road day.
There is also a drive up the mountain for suitable SUV or 4×4 vehicles. Conditions change with weather, so ask what is sensible during your stay.

Clear winter nights are especially good; bring warm layers.

Whatever the day held — dam, trail or animal round — it ends with the farm going quiet around you: a braai, a fire, a hot tub at every cottage, and a sky full of stars.
Every cottage has a hot tub, and approximately 20 pieces of starter firewood are included. We confirm practical setup details before arrival.
