Landmeterskop farm is roughly 200 km from Cape Town and 22 km out of Stanford on the road to Elim. The last stretch is on gravel roads where mobile signal can drop, so save these directions before you set off.

Save before the gravel road

From Hermanus

  1. Take the R43 to Stanford.
  2. At the Stanford intersection, turn left onto the R326 towards Caledon.
  3. After 4 km, turn right onto the Papiesvlei / Salmonsdam / Elim gravel road.
  4. After 11 km, cross the river and turn right towards Elim at the T-junction.
  5. Continue 7 km over the hill until you see the gate and sign on your right.

From Caledon

  1. Take the R316 and travel approximately 27 km.
  2. Turn right onto the R326 and travel approximately 19 km.
  3. Turn left onto the Papiesvlei / Elim gravel road.
  4. After 11 km, cross the river and turn right towards Elim at the T-junction.
  5. Continue 7 km over the hill until you see the gate and sign on your right.

Practical guest notes

When can we arrive and leave?

Check-in is 14:00–20:00. Check-out is by 10:00.

Can we request a cot?

Please request a cot before arrival. Availability must be confirmed for your cottage.

Is it self-catering?

Yes. Bring your own food and drinks. The cottages have equipped kitchens and braai areas.

Is there WiFi?

Yes. Good on-site WiFi makes the farm practical for longer stays and work weeks.

Can we bring pets?

Dogs are not permitted unless we have given express permission in advance. Large breeds are not accepted. There is no pet fee, but guests accept responsibility and risk in the working-farm environment and because no cottage or garden is fully enclosed, escape-proof or dog-secure.

Can children enjoy the farm?

Yes. Children can enjoy the animals, open space, egg collecting, farm games and the swimming dam with adult supervision.

How do we book?

Are activities always available?

No. Farm activities depend on weather, water levels, season, animal care and daily farm work. Ask what is available during your stay.

Guest notes

Guest charges

Extra cottage guests cost R750 per person per night, subject to confirmation within the cottage occupancy limit. Existing agreed guest prices and booking totals remain unchanged. If NightsBridge already includes an extra guest in the booking total, the R750 fee is not added again.

Animal rounds are included for overnight guests. External day visitors pay R150 per person, adults and children, cash only. No animal-round fee is added to accommodation guests.

Kitchen and dam

Salt and pepper are provided. Cooking oil is not provided; please bring your own.

Fishing is catch-and-release. Current fish species in the dam are unconfirmed. Please bring your own rods and ask about conditions before fishing.
