The farm dam

Guests can swim, use the kayaks, picnic on the bank and fish when conditions allow. The dam is home to carp and tilapia; trout remain a good farm rumour, never a promised catch.

Fishing is catch-and-release unless the farm team says otherwise. Please bring your own rods, use kayaks only with permission and suitable lifejackets, and return kayaks, paddles and shared equipment after use.

The dam is not lifeguarded. Swimming and paddling are at your own risk, and children must be actively supervised by an adult at all times near the water.

Hot tubs at dusk

End the day with the slow part of the evening: a braai outside, the fire lit, cottage lights low and the Overberg sky going properly dark.

Every cottage has a hot tub. We confirm practical setup details before arrival.

Star-gazing night sky over Landmeterskop Farm Cottages farm accommodation near Stanford in the Overberg
Star gazing

The night sky is part of the stay.

Once the farm lights are low, the sky opens up. Pull a chair onto the stoep, bring a blanket and let the children see what darkness outside the city really looks like.

Clear nights are best; warm layers help.
