Landmeterskop Farm Cottages is the next chapter of the farm many guests have known for years as Landmeterskop Farm Cottages, on Papiesvlei Road near Stanford. We are keeping what people loved — the farm setting, the cottages, the animals, the sense of space — and gradually refining the rest: the guest experience, the booking journey, and the way the estate is presented.
The heart of the place remains the same: self-catering cottages, wide skies, slow weekends, animals, hot tubs, fires, the swimming dam and room for children to roam.
The land here has a long story. It was once part of the much larger original Papiesvlei — the old "Paapjes Valley" — farmed and lived on long before any cottage took in its first guest.
In time the farm took on the name Landmeterskop and a life as a working sheep farm in the Cape Overberg, drawing people who fell for the same things every time: the natural beauty of the area, the peacefulness, the water, and the grazing land that the Overberg light seems made for.
Landmeterskop Farm Cottages is simply the next chapter of that story — the same valley, the same water and wide skies, carried forward for the families who find it now.
The farm sits about 200 km from Cape Town and 22 km out of Stanford on the road to Elim — a working farm of meadows, one swimming dam and fynbos-covered hills in the heart of the Cape Overberg.
Stanford itself is one of the gentler Overberg villages: small, walkable, with restaurants, a Saturday market and the Klein Merino. Hermanus and the coast are about half an hour further on.
